BAD TIMING: Officers were at a department store on an unrelated call when dispatch advised them of a shoplift in progress at the business. Officers placed the male subject under arrest because a record check revealed he had multiple warrants and was previously trespassed from the business. After removing the stolen merchandise, officers also found needles, spoons, tin foil and heroin, as well as a stolen debit card. The male was booked at Pierce County jail.
GUNSHOTS: Officers responded to a report of gunshots on Feb. 14. The reporting party described a strange car, which officers approached. A female driver was in the car and another was nearby. The driver put her hands out of the window when ordered by officers, but the other female became argumentative,claiming that the officers were not really police. Eventually the other female was brought to the ground and handcuffed. The driver was handcuffed without incident and told officers two males were test firing a gun in the woods. The driver was released but the other female was booked in Nisqually jail.
BLOCKING TRAFFIC: On Feb. 15 officers were called to check out a car blocking a lane of traffic. The reporting party told officers they picked up a party of people who said they left their car behind. The car was towed and photos taken, and a record check gave officers the owner of the car.
MALICIOUS DAMAGE: Officers were dispatched to a store parking lot for a report of damage to a car. The owner of the car and reporting party said anunknown person damaged the driver side door, possibly with a screwdriver, in order to get in. The reporting party said it did not look like the person gained entry.
