HANDS OFF THE WHEEL: Officers observed a female driver with her hands above her head and wearing no seatbelt March 28. After stopping the car, the driver told officers she was putting on her hat. However, officers smelled marijuana coming from the car. The driver told officers her daughter smoked marijuana in the car earlier. The driver admitted to smoking earlier and agreed to a field sobriety test. Officers determined after the tests she was impaired, placed her in handcuffs and cited her. Officers also arranged for the several puppies officers found in her car.

POSSIBLY STOLEN: Officers were called March 29 to a report of possible stolen property at a Bonney Lake pawn shop. The owner of the shop reported a female came in with a phone/scanner belonging to an out-of-town Wal-Mart. The female told officers they bought the phone/scanner from a male without knowing what it really was or how expensive it was. An asset protection associate from Wal-Mart confirmed the phone/scanner belonged to the business because it had Wal-Mart software still on it. The item was suspected to have been stolen out of Auburn. The device was given to back to the asset protection associate and the woman advised on a warrant she had.
