Drivers planning a trip to Orting and points south this Sunday may want to plan for a little extra time.

The Washington Department of Transportation will be closing state Route 162 in both directions near 109th Street East to repair the culvert at Ball Creek, just south of Sumner.

The closure is scheduled from midnight to noon Sunday.

During the 12-hour closure, drivers will detoured via Old Military Road East (122nd Street East) and Shaw Road.
