Hit and run suspect refuses to answer door | SUMNER POLICE BLOTTER

Sumner Police Blotter for the week of Dec. 7, 2011.

At approximately 12:15 a.m. Nov. 12 officers responded to the 1700 block of Bonney Ave. for a report of subjects throwing rocks at a residence. Upon officers arrival they contacted the victim who stated that several rocks had been thrown at his windows on the east side of his residence. The officer observed several males on an apartment balcony who quickly went inside when they saw the officer. The officer went to the apartment and was met by the apartment manager. The manager said that the apartment was vacant; however he agreed to let some people use it for the night. The manager let the officers inside. The officers located six adult males hiding in various places in the apartment. None of the males admitted to throwing rocks at the windows; however two of them were arrested on outstanding warrants.

At approximately 9:08 a.m. Nov. 14 an officer investigated a vehicle prowl to a commercial vehicle in the 13600 block of 52nd Ave E. The complainant reported that several items were taken out of the vehicle including a commercial gas card. The gas card was used at two locations in King County prior to it being deactivated. Evidence was collected and the case remains under investigation.

At approximately 7:38 a.m. Nov. 14 officers investigated a hit and run collision that occurred in the 5100 block of East Valley Highway. The victim was able to obtain the license plate of the suspect vehicle and a description of the driver. An officer attempted to contact the suspect at his residence but the suspect refused to come to the door. The officer searched previous reports and learned that the possible suspect had been arrested previously. A photo montage was compiled and shown to the victim. The victim positively identified the suspect. The officer once again attempted to contact the suspect and he refused to answer the door. The suspect was charged with hit and run through the court.
