Enumclaw’s traditional holiday parade rolled down Cole Street Saturday evening, Dec. 6.

The parade moved through the heart of downtown with the streets lined with kids, young and old.

The Chamber of Commerce-sponsored the event with Treat’s Heating and Cooling.  There was a  “Battle of the Bands” featuring high school marching bands from Enumclaw, White River and Sumner high schools.

This year’s grand marshal was Trip Hart, who has donated countless hours to a variety of community projects through the years.

Parade winners, store front decorations:

Heading the list of award winners during Enumclaw’s annual holiday parade were PGH Excavating and Mount Rainier Baseball Association, who shared the “Most Christmas Spirit” award.

Also honored during Saturday night’s parade through downtown Enumclaw were:

Best treat giveaway:  Enumclaw Adventure Before and After School Program

Best crowd pleaser:  Brundage Bone Concrete Pumping

Best theme overall:  Cerebral Palsy Awareness (Eyes of a Child)

The school marching band competition went as follows:

1 – Sumner High School Spartan Marching Band

2 – White River High School Marching Band

3 – Enumclaw High School Marching Band

Downtown business were encouraged to decorate their storefronts for the season, using a “holiday jingle” theme.

Rendezvous Wine and Brew took first place, Puget Sound Draperies was judged to be second and The Sequel bookstore was third.
