East Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to the report of a shooting just before 11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18. The report was called in by a homeowner, who recounted shooting an intruder. The incident occurred south of Buckley, between South Prairie and Wilkeson, near Tubbs Road.

The intruder was pronounced dead at the scene and the two homeowners were transported to a local hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.

Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the incident.
