If your Friday night plans include a trip on I-5 in south Seattle,  Seattle City Light will close both directions of the interstate between State Route 599 and Boeing Access Road by midnight.

Lanes start closing at 9 p.m. I-5 will be completely reopened to traffic by 6 a.m. Saturday.

During the closure, Seattle City Light crews will replace a large cable than spans I-5. Martin Luther King Jr. Way (State Route 900) will also be closed between South 129th Street and Boeing Access Road.
