FIREWORKS: Police responded to multiple complaints of fireworks on New Year’s Eve and also witnessed fireworks being set off throughout town. When possible, the person responsible was advised of a city prohibition against fireworks at this time.
DRIVER FLEES: A motorist on Griffin Avenue was involved in a hit-and-run incident shortly after 10 p.m. Dec. 31. The driver of the suspect vehicle had fled the scene but was soon located and taken into custody on multiple charges.
ILLEGAL TENANT: Police made contact the afternoon of Dec. 31 with both a tenant and landlord who were having a dispute at a Cole Street location. It was determined the trouble was over a sublease, which was not in compliance with the original lease. Further investigation revealed the reporting party was staying illegally and was advised to leave.
