The Washington State Board of Health will hold a public hearing to take comments on the immunizations rule update during its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday. The proposed rule change is largely technical. The adjustment would bring the immunization rules in line with legislative changes to the exception provisions as well as updating the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ recommended immunization schedule.

The Department of Health will brief the board on the proposed rule change and summarize the comments received.

Other rule making procedural steps on the agenda include a briefing on the notifiable conditions definition section pertaining to elevated blood lead levels, as well as a discussion on a Department of Health request for rule delegation on the sanitary control of shellfish rule.

The Board of Health will meet from 10 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. Wednesday in rooms 152 and 153 of Point Plaza East located at 310 Israel Road SE in Tumwater. This meeting is open to the public with an opportunity for testimony on any public health issue.
