IN THE DITCH: Officers were dispatched the afternoon of Aug. 19 to a state Route 410 location following a report of a vehicle in the ditch. Police made contact with an 18-year-old Buckley man and a 15-year-old Bonney Lake female. The driver said he went into the ditch to avoid hitting a car that turned in front of him on the highway. There was no apparent damage to the vehicle; a tow truck was called at the owner’s request.
UNDER THE INFLUENCE: At 6 p.m. Aug. 19, police stopped a 30-year-old Lake Tapps man for speeding in the 200 block of Church Street. He was driving with a suspended license and showed signs of impairment, so he was taken into custody and transported to the Buckley jail. Medical assistance was called for when the man claimed he was unable to walk. He was then taken to a nearby hospital and a search warrant was obtained so blood could be taken. He was released from the hospital and transported to the SCORE jail in Des Moines where he was booked for DUI and driving with a suspended license.
CAR CRASH: City officers responded the afternoon of Aug. 16 to assist with a traffic accident that was blocking the roadway at the intersection of state Route 162 and SR 165. Contact was made with all involved and information was taken; when a State Patrol trooper arrived, the scene and information was transferred to the WSP.
ENUMCLAW ASSIST: A Buckley officer was dispatched shortly before 5 a.m. Aug. 16 to assist Enumclaw police with the apprehension of a juvenile for vehicle prowl.
STOLEN VEHICLE: An officer was dispatched the afternoon of Aug. 13 to assist Enumclaw police with a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was stopped by Buckley officers on state Route 410 at Jefferson Avenue. The driver was arrested and booked by Enumclaw police.
