U.S. Army SSG Andrew Hennessy will be making his way from Fort Rucker, Ala., to Maryland to accept the Lingiam Odems Memorial Award for Air Traffic Control Specialists of the Military.
The Air Traffic Control Association presents its 2010 awards Monday at the 55th Annual Conference Awards Luncheon to recognize in National Harbor, Md.
Hennessy is a 2002 White River High School graduate, who joined the Army in 2002. During his time in the Army, he has been deployed to Korea and Iraq twice.
The goal of ATCA’s awards program is to give special recognition to those persons and/or organizations engaged in the development, operation, or mainteannce of the world-wide air traffic control system for outstanding achievement or for an outstanding contribution to ATC.
He is the son of Dan Hennessy of Enumclaw and Denise Hennessy of Lacey, Wash.
