Detectives from the Washington State Patrol’s Missing and Exploited Children Task Force (MECTF) have arrested 28-year old Army Specialist and Lacey resident Nicholas Carlin on charges of (6) counts of possessing sexually explicit images of minors.

The investigation began earlier this week when agents from JBLM discovered alleged images of minor females during a separate investigation into Carlin and referred them to MECTF.

A search warrant was served on Carlin’s cell phone today and MECTF detectives confirmed the presence of sexually explicit images.  Carlin was subsequently arrested and booked into Thurston County Jail.  Detectives continue with the investigation, and additional search warrants are anticipated.

The MECTF is made up of detectives from the Washington State Patrol and the Shelton Police Department.
