CAN’T CAMP: Officers made contact the afternoon of July 2 with subjects who were attempting to move into an illegal encampment into an area near Cole Street and Battersby Avenue. The people in question were gathering their belongings and leaving the area.

JULY 2: Officers dealt with a suspicious vehicle on Mountain Circle, responded to a pair of fireworks complaints and headed to a Jefferson Avenue site after an alarm was activated. Also, it was a busy traffic day, with 20 stops made.

JULY 1: City police made one arrest due to an outstanding warrant, responded to three animal complaints and assisted the fire department on two calls. In addition, there were eight traffic stops.
