County representatives will be joined by disaster preparedness experts from the American Red Cross and underscore the importance of preparing for flooding, highlighting in particular the efforts to build awareness and preparedness in King County’s vulnerable and non-English speaking communities.
Flooding is the most-common natural disaster affecting King County; there have been 12 presidentially declared federal disasters from river flooding in King County since 1990.
