The five Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Wards in Enumclaw and Buckley will be participating in the annual Northwest Day of Service Saturday and are asking others to join them.

The Plateau’s participation is part of a larger Northwest area effort.

The Enumclaw and Buckley Wards will be doing local projects.

The Buckley 1st and 2nd Ward will be working on landscaping and park clean up along the Foothills Trail. About 80 adults are expected to meet at 8 a.m. at the Buckley Youth Center. Community members who would like to help are welcome and should provide their own gloves and landscaping tools like clippers, rakes, weed pullers and wheelbarrows. Prepare for the weather, as groups will work rain or shine. The group also could use snacks and water donations for volunteers.

The Enumclaw 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wards, about 100 adults, will be cleaning, painting, pressure washing and taking care of general repairs of the Enumclaw Expo Center. Work will include painting restrooms, landscaping the driveway to RV park, landscaping around the field house and painting the light pole bases, eaves of the horse barn and ticket booth.
