Libraries announce fall storytimes

As summer draws to a close and older kids prepare to head off to school, the Pierce County Library System has announced its fall storytimes.

As summer draws to a close and older kids prepare to head off to school, the Pierce County Library System has announced its fall storytimes. From learning the ABCs to enjoying bilingual stories, these free events are designed to teach children the skills for future reading success.

The events are designed for children up to age 6 years old and include programs like Prewalker Story Time for babies, Young Toddler Story Time for those just learning to walk, Toddler Story Time for ages 2-3, Preschool Story Time for ages 3-6, family/Bilingual Story Time for families with preschool age children and Story Play Time for ages 3-6.

Not all programs are available at all libraries. Registration may be required. Contact the library for details. Registration begins Sept. 7.

The following are the schedules for local libraries:

Bonney Lake Pierce County Library, 18501 90th St. E.:

Prewalker: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 29 to Nov. 17;

Young Toddler: 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Fridays, Oct. 1 to Nov. 19;

Toddler: 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays Sept. 28 to Nov. 16; and

Preschool: 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 28 to Nov. 16.

Sumner Pierce County Library, 1116 Fryar Ave:

Prewalker: 10 a.m. Wednesdays Sept. 29 to Nov. 17;

Story Play Time: 10 a.m. Thursdays, Sept. 30 to Nov. 4, and Nov. 18;

Bilingual: 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 27 to Nov. 15; and

Family: 11 a.m. Wednesdays Sept. 29 to Nov. 17.

Buckley Pierce County Library, 123 S. River Ave.:

Family: 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, Sept. 30 – Nov. 4
