Pierce County Library System provides free job search help from online tutors in real time, available in English or Spanish, seven days a week from 1 to 10 p.m.
People may access these services online anywhere with a Pierce County Library card or by using a free computer at any of 17 Pierce County libraries.
“Pierce County Library has been offering the free online job help people have been asking for,” said Neel Parikh, executive director for Pierce County Library System. “It is particularly important for the Library to add new features to these and other services in these tough economic times.”
The new JobNow service provides on-demand access to live, expert coaches for every stage of the job search, including career coaching and constructive suggestions on resumes and cover letters, as well as online interview practice and feedback.
People may also submit resumes online at any time. A job coach will return the resume within 24 hours with detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement.
JobNow also provides an extensive collection of resources, including resume/cover letter templates, interview tips, general sample interview questions, industry-specific sample interview questions, and a vast array of online resources and links.
All tutors and coaches reside in the U.S., possess four-year college degrees, undergo a rigorous selection and training process, and complete a full background and security check.
