The Pierce County Library System’s Board of Trustees welcomes Linda Ishem, as its latest Board of Trustee, to help guide the future of library service.
Ishem, a University Place resident, is currently an assistant professor with the University of Washington Tacoma’s Urban Studies Program. Before working for the university, she held posts with Pierce County’s Department of Community Services, as the director, and prior to that as a manager and an acting assistant director with the Washington State Department of Community Development.
The Library System is not a part of Pierce County government. By state law, Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy appointed Ishem and the Pierce County Council ratified the appointment.
