If you plan on utilizing Pierce County Ferry System for summer travels, take heed that service may be affected from July 2 to July 11.
According to a Pierce County press release, the ferry system may have to restrict large vehicles such as trailers and RVs during low tides to minimize damage to vehicles and ferries.
“Ferry crew and staff will work with travelers to minimize inconveniences,” said Marine Superintendent Captain Paul Crow. “By being conservative during low tides, we can avoid damage to vehicles, ramps and the ferries.”
Ferry staff will be checking large vehicles during the following days and times:
• 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 2
• 7 a.m. to noon on July 3
• a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 4
• 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 5
• 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 6
• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 7
• 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 8
• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 9
• 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 10
