A 60-year old man drowned on Thursday in Black Diamond.
According to the Black Diamond Police Department, the man was discovered unresponsive in the water in Black Diamond Lake south of the city’s downtown on April 17 just after 9 a.m.
He was found by members of his family, and the body was recovered by the King County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit.
The BDPD has said there is no indication of foul play.
Based on the initial investigation, it appears the individual may have suffered a medical episode while attempting to launch his boat,” Commander Brian Martinez said, adding that it appeared the emergency likely occurred late the previous afternoon. “…At this time, we do not believe cold water temperatures were a contributing factor, though environmental conditions are always a consideration in any water-related incident.”
The incident was still being investigated, and the body has been transported to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office for evaluation.
