Halloween is coming - which means trick-or-treating in downtown Enumclaw.
For the past several years, many downtown business owners have created a safe haven for the children of the Plateau area by participating in an annual trick-or-treating extravaganza. Hundreds of costumed children flock to Cole Street to fill their bags with goodies provided by the businesses.
The Enumclaw Police Department will also send the Explorers, a group of young men and women interested in law enforcement careers, to keep it safe on the street.
Trick-or-treating hours this year will be from 5 to 8 p.m on Sunday, Oct. 31. By closing Cole Street from Marshall to Stevenson (excluding Griffin) the downtown businesses can open their doors to the children and keep them safe and sound on Halloween.
