Imagination Theatre’s summer workshop is in full swing, preparing to present “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jr.” and “Footloose, The Musical.”
The workshop hosts youth from the age of 5 to 19 for four to five weeks. In that time, the youth must learn songs, dances, create sets, gather props, learn lines and put together a show from start to finish.
“It is so wonderful how much the youth are supported in Enumclaw. Whether it be sports, the arts or 4-H, it is obvious that Enumclaw cares about the youth,” Imagination Theatre Director Stu Johnson said. “We have incredible group of parents who are always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.”
“The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jr” is the story of a boy who wished on a star to do great things all over the world. The catch? He was made flat in order to do it.
The curtain goes up at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There also will be a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday.
“Footloose, The Musical” is a classic tale of teen rebellion and repression. What do kids do when rock ‘n’ roll and dancing are made illegal? Find out and hear some hit songs from the 1980s at 7 p.m. Aug. 9, 10 and 11; there also will be a matinee showing at 2 p.m. on the 11th.
