King County and The Neely Mansion Association in Auburn will host a free Window Restoration Workshop Aug. 13 and 14., demonstrating on the historic mansion’s own classic windows.
Attendees will learn basic window repair techniques, such as how to safely disassemble window openings and methods to repair wood and mechanical elements.
You can even bring your own wood-framed window in need of repair and get advice on restoring it.
The workshops will run in morning and afternoon sessions both days. Morning sessions are from 8 a.m. to noon, while the afternoon demonstrations run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. They will be led by King County Landmarks Coordinator Sarah Steen.
Space is limited, the Mansion Association said, and reservations can be placed at 253-927-4250. The mansion is located at 12303 SE Auburn-Black Diamond Rd. Visit https://neelymansion.org/ for more information.
