All suspects in the police blotter are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

ACCIDENTS ON TOP OF ACCIDENTS: On Sept. 26 at 5:43 a.m., an officer was directing traffic at an accident scene on state Route 410. During this time, he witnessed a second accident when one car rear-ended another. The at-fault driver was issued a notice of infraction for following too closely.

MOTORCYCLE COLLISION: At 4:37 p.m. Sept. 27, an officer was dispatched to a car vs. motorcycle accident on state Route 410 near the Econo Lodge. A car driven by a 47-year-old Buckley man had stopped for traffic as it waited to make a left hand turn. A motorcycle driven by a 51-year-old Bonney Lake man and carrying a 57-year-old female passenger rear-ended the car. The driver of the car was transported to the hospital. The motorcyclist and his passenger were examined by emergency medical personnel and released on scene. Police issued the motorcyclist a notice of infraction for following too closely.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: At 11 a.m. Sept. 28, jewelry and other valuables were stolen from a Railroad Avenue residence. Police listed a 29-year-old man as a suspect in the crime.

A ‘ROAD WARRIOR’ STYLE CRIME: At 5 p.m. Sept. 28, a 28-year-old man reported the theft of a 5-gallon can of gasoline from the back of his company pickup. The theft took place on 7th Avenue.

SLASHER: On Sept. 21, a 31-year-old male calling from his North 4th Street  home reported malicious damage to his car. Two tires were punctured and all four seats had been slashed. There was no known suspect in the crime at the time of the police report.

DUI: At 1:33 a.m. Sept. 30, an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on the 410. The odor of intoxicants could be smelled coming from inside the vehicle. After some discussion, the driver refused any voluntary sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and his vehicle was impounded.

HUNGER GAMES?: At 9:33 p.m. Sept. 23, an officer was dispatched to 4th Street, where a man was reported to be shooting a bow and arrow. On arrival, a woman at the scene denied that anyone had been using such a weapon. There were no signs of damage to nearby property. The woman told the officer the suspected male had left three hours prior to his arrival.

BLINDED BY THE LIGHT: Sometime before 7:35 a.m. Oct. 1, a morning commuter turned off of the 410 onto A Street and was temporarily blinded by the sunlight. His car drifted out of the lane and collided with a raised planter and a gas line vent. He was not injured and his vehicle was able to be removed from the scene.

POSSESSION: At 10:38 p.m. Oct. 1, a squad car stopped a vehicle for speeding on the 410 near the Upper Cemetery Road. The officer smelled the odor of fresh marijuana while he spoke with the driver. On request, she handed the officer a bag with several items of drug paraphernalia inside. With some prodding, she eventually handed over a small baggie containing green vegetable matter. She was placed under arrest and then released with a criminal citation and a speeding ticket.

ALWAYS HAVE A DRIVER: At 3:14 a.m. Oct. 3, an officer contacted an intoxicated 23-year-old woman who was walking down the 410 without shoes. The woman told the officer she lived in Enumclaw and was walking home. The officer gave the woman a courtesy ride to her home, where she was released to an adult.
