Officers deal with battling woman, suspected heroin overdose | Buckley police reports June 26-30

BATTLING WITH OFFICER: Officers were dispatched at 3 a.m. June 30 to an apartment on Mills Street following a report of a domestic situation in progress. When police arrived they could hear a couple arguing. A woman met officers at the door and refused to let them in; do to the nature of the call, officers entered anyway. The woman grabbed at the first officer, then became actively aggressive with the second. After refusing commands to sit down and behave she attempted to kick and bite an officer who was placing her in handcuffs. She was taken to the police station, issued a criminal citation and later released when officers found no location where they could book a female. The man involved in the situation was found to be wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant but the agency that issued the warrant could not pick up the suspect.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: A reported domestic assault had city officers responding the afternoon of June 29 to a Park Avenue address. A man and woman were contacted and it was determined the man was the primary aggressor. He was arrested and booked for fourth-degree assault. The woman was transported to receive aid for possible facial injuries.

SEVERAL WARRANTS: Police responded the evening of June 28 to the vicinity of Main Street and Elsa Avenue where they contacted a man who was soliciting door-to-door. The man was found to be wanted on multiple arrest warrants issued by Auburn, Kent and Seattle. He was taken into custody, transported to meet with an Auburn officer, then booked into jail.

PROBABLE OVERDOSE: Officers were dispatched the afternoon of June 27 to a Main Street apartment to assist emergency medical personnel with a man who was unconscious and unresponsive, but breathing. The 34-year-old was treated at the scene and later transported to an area hospital. The incident stemmed from an apparent heroin overdose.

ASSAULT ALLEGED: A city officer was dispatched at 2:09 a.m. June 26 after a man, who is known to have mental issues, claimed he had been assaulted. The alleged suspect claimed the man was the aggressor, that he had pushed her and hit her in the head with a bowl. The officer attempted to talk to the man, who yelled at the officer and called him names.

CITATION GIVEN: An automobile accident had an officer responding at 6 p.m. June 26 to the vicinity of state Route 410 and the SR 165 extension road. It was determined a Buckley man failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn and was struck by a vehicle driven by a Buckley woman. The man was cited for his driving error and a collision report was completed for the Washington State Patrol.
