Aug. 18, 3:43: The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has identified two victims in the recent Greenwater crash; they are still working on identifying the third. Families are being notified.

Aug. 18, 3:22: The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle collision a mile east from Greenwater earlier this morning.

A passerby called 911 to report the incident around 5:39 a.m., and said the car had gone off the road, was on fire, and that there was “at least one deceased person inside the vehicle,” a press release reads.

After putting out the flames, which had spread to nearby vegetation, responders located what they believed to be the remains of three people inside the car.

The incident continues to be investigated, and this article will be updated when more information becomes available.
