A car rollover that took place Wednesday near the 14200 block of 215th Avenue resulted in vehicle and occupants being lost in the Tehalah Woods.

An East Pierce Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched around 4:30 p.m., but it took approximately an hour to find the scene of the accident. Firefighters and Pierce County Sheriff deputies searched the area south of Bonney Lake and near the Tehaleh planned community.

Two patients with serious injuries were found. A Wilderness Rescue Unit was dispatched to the scene to recover the crash victims and bring them to Emergency Medical Service personnel.

One patient with life-threatening injuries was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. The other was transported to a local trauma center with critical injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the cause of the crash.
