WELFARE CHECK: Police were called the morning of Oct. 21 to check on the welfare of people sleeping under the awning of a Garfield Street church. There was no problem and the subjects were moving on.
CAN’T SLEEP: Police were told at 9:21 p.m. Oct. 21 of someone sleeping on a picnic table in McFarland Park. No one was present, but a neighbor reported seeing a man leaving the area carrying a sleeping bag.
THROWING GARBAGE: A group of people throwing garbage and breaking beer bottles prompted a police response the afternoon of Oct. 18 to Rotary Centennial Park. An officer stood by while those responsible cleaned up the area.
BEHIND THE WHEEL: A vehicle sat in a convenience store parking lot for 20 minutes the evening of Oct. 18, with the apparently-intoxicated driver revving the engine. Police arrived, found the driver to be impaired and placed him under arrest. He also was charged for lacking a valid license.
ARRESTED: An officer took a report Oct. 18 regarding a trespassing suspect at a Griffin Avenue location. The person, who had been trespassed from the location several days prior, was arrested and booked.
TWO ASSAULTS: Shortly after 8 p.m. Oct. 17 police responded to a Jensen Street facility where a patient was reportedly being aggressive and combative toward staff members. About 25 minutes later, police responded to a reported assault involving inmates at the city jail.
