The Pierce County Library System is a finalist to receive the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The award, given by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, is the highest national honor for such institutions’ service to their community.

The Institute is encouraging Pierce County community members — as well as members of other finalist communities — to share their experience with the library on their official Facebook page. Anecdotes may be accompanied by photos, and Pierce Library spokesperson Mary Getchell asked that posters mention their contribution is about the Pierce County Library.

Posts are requested at any time through late April, but the Pierce County Library System will be featured on the Institute’s Facebook page March 20.
