The public will have a chance to discuss the future use of the Washington State University Demonstration Forest during a Sept. 2 hearing.
The Bonney Lake Planning Commission will host the 5:30 p.m. hearing on the three proposed amendments to the city’s Comprehensive Plan, Area Wide Rezone and Draft Environmental Impact Statement.
The hearing will be in the Bonney Lake City Hall council chambers, 19206 Bonney Lake Blvd.
The proposal would change the land-use designation of the WSU land from Conservation/Open Spaces to Commercial/Public Facilities/High-Density Residential.
The property is situated south of state Route 410, west of 214th Avenue and north of South Prairie Road.
Alterations to the Comp Plan would also change the Woodyard property on 192nd Avenue East from Medium Density Residential to Commerical.

A 15-day public comment period on the Comprehensive Plan and Area Wide Rezone amendments end at 5 p.m. Sept. 3. More comment periods and public hearings may be available.
There is a 30-day comment period on the WSU Forest proposal until 5 p.m. Sept. 14.
