Planning and preparation for the Bonney Lake Days festival is in high gear with less than a month to go before the fun begins.
The three-day celebration will kick off Friday, Aug. 20 at Allan Yorke Park.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m.with stage entertainment and a dance from 8 p.m. to midnigh. Music iwll be provided by Mr. Bill's, courtesy of the Bonney Lake Tavern.
Aug. 21 events begin at 10 a.m. and run until midnight. There will be stage entertainment, a classic car show and a "Bark in the Park" dog contest.
The Great Pretenders will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight.
"We have over 40 vendors signed up and we'll get more," City Councilman Neil Johnson said. "This will be a great opportunity for local business to show off their products."
The morning of Aug. 22, the New Horizons band begins playing at 10 a.m. and stage entertainment will continue until 5 p.m.
A new addition this year is a shuttle bus running from the Bonney Lake park-and-ride to Allan Yorke Park Saturday and Sunday. The bus will leave the park-and-ride on the hour and return from Allan Yorke Park on the half-hour.
The boat launch at Allan Yorke Park will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
There will be a pancake feed at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The price is $6 and children under 5 are free. All proceeds will go to the Panther Boosters.
The boosters raise money for athletic equipment, band uniforms, scholarships and other needed supplies for the new Bonney Lake High School.
Tickets for the pancake feed will be available at the event or may be purchased ahead of time at Michelle's Studio of Dance, Bonney Lake Tavern or by calling Louisa Smith at 253-841-2077 to order by mail.
