As details from a murderous Christmas Eve rampage that left three generations of a family dead in a Carnation, Wash., home unfolded, the distance between the small town east of Seattle and the Plateau became smaller.

Scott Anderson, his wife Erika, and their children, Olivia, 6, and Nathan, 3, all from Black Diamond, were four of the six victims who were gunned down by Scott's sister Michele Kristen Anderson and her boyfriend Joseph Thomas McEnroe.

Michele Anderson and Joe McEnroe were charged with six counts of aggravated murder in the first degree Friday morning in King County Superior Court. They may face the death penalty.

According to charging documents, Michele and Joe confessed to the murders. They first killed Michele's parents Wayne and Judith Anderson in their Carnation home. Michele and Joe lived in a separate home on the property. Knowing that her brother Scott and his family were expected to visit later that evening, they waited and confronted and killed the four when they arrived.

“We're very sorry for the family,” Enumclaw School District Superintendent Mike Nelson said. The 6 year old was a kindergarten student at Black Diamond Elementary.

“We plan to surround the classroom with support when we return,” Nelson said.

Students were expected back at Black Diamond Elementary today, Wednesday. Nelson said although there has been time for word to get out, the district will provide additional counseling if necessary and will also be sending home with students a sealed envelope with information about the tragedy.

A motive has not been determined, but charging documents report that Michele was tired of everybody stepping on her and was upset with her parents and brother.
