This year’s Plateau Garden Tour – a rain-or-shine, self-guided event – kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The tour continues until 4 p.m., sponsored by the Enumclaw Regional Healthcare Foundation.

The event will feature nine distinct gardens plus a bonus stop for a free glass of lemonade at a new blueberry farm.

Things get rolling at Country Farm and Feed, 23417 S.E. 436th, where participants will pick up a booklet featuring maps and tour information.

Each garden will feature an artist showcasing garden-related art. To help answer questions there will be local garden club members at each garden.

Other tour highlights include a talk by local garden expert Marianne Binetti, fiddle and vocal tunes by The Summer Januaries and violin melodies by Corbin Bender. Additionally, some of the featured plants from the tour will be sold at Country Farm and Feed.

Proceeds from the Garden Tour will benefit the Care Van program which offers free healthcare-related transportation to residents on the Plateau. On an average, the Care Van completes more than 220 transports a month across the Plateau – not just for senior citizens, but for anyone with a hardship and in need of healthcare-related transportation.

Tickets are available in Enumclaw at Country Farm and Feed, GE&B Nursery and Gifts, Gramma’s Garden, the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce and the Enumclaw Regional Healthcare Foundation office. Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance and $20 day of the event.
