Feb. 3
– Officers were called to SR 410 and Warner Avenue around 10:30 a.m. regarding a dog running on the highway. Officers arrived and the owner was able to get control of the canine.
– Officers were called to Watson Street around 11:30 a.m. regarding a car theft. The car was later located on Feb. 6 on 216th Avenue E. in unincorporated King County; both license plates were missing.
– Officers were contacted at the Police Department by a person wanting to file a missing persons report around 1:45 p.m. Officers located the missing person and advised their family of their options.
Feb. 4
– Officers were flagged down in Bonney Lake around 5:45 a.m. for a medical situation; the subject declined aid, but requested officers follow them home.
– Officers received a report of a man slumped over his vehicle wheel at Headworks Brewery around 8:30 p.m; officers were unable to locate the car.
– Officers responded to a break-in at a Division Street residence around 8:30 p.m. The subject was a relative who was trespassed from the home.
– Officers came across a suspicious vehicle at the Country Animal Hospital around 9:45 p.m.; the driver had run out of gas, and was planning on moving along.
– A traffic stop on Roosevelt Avenue E and Farman Street N around 10 p.m. resulted in an arrest.
Feb. 5
– Officers responded to a suspicious person report on Roosevelt Avenue E and Loraine Street around 4 p.m.; the suspect was arrested and met with Kent police for a warrant.
Feb. 6
– Another traffic stop on Roosevelt Avenue E and Farman Street N around 11 a.m. resulted in an arrest.
– Around 10 p.m., officers were alerted to an incident where a subject was trespassed from a Railroad Street business, and told the business they’d return with others to start a fight. Officers advised the business to call 911 if the subject returned.
Feb. 7
– Officers trespassed a subject from the QFC and surrounding business complex around 10:15 a.m.
– Officers were contacted by Espresso Stop Coffee Bar around 2:15 p.m. to help trespass a frequent visitor; officers advised to the business call them back when the subject next visits.
– Officers performed a welfare check on an intoxicated individual at the Safeway around 4:45 p.m. Aid evaluated the subject and cleared him, and Washington State Patrol confirmed the man left his car on the side of SR 410. The subject was warned against driving, so he contacted a friend to pick him up.
– Officers were dispatched to Railroad Street around 8:45 p.m. in response to a female subject being assaulted with pepper spray. A report was taken.
Feb. 8
– Officers were flagged down on Griffin Avenue to a possible overdose around 12:15 a.m. The subject left with fire aid.
– Officers were alerted to a recklessly driven vehicle around 3:30 p.m.; officers stopped the car on Battersby and Porter Street and the driver was arrested for DUI and hit and run charges.
– Officers were again called to Espresso Stop Coffee Bar to help trespass a subject around 5:15 p.m. Officers determined there were possible charges for harassment, criminal trespass, and malicious mischief, but could not locate the subject.
Feb. 9
– Officers believed they had come across a subject with an Enumclaw warrant on Dickson Avenue around noon; the subject ended up not being the suspect.
– Fred’s Towing called officers around 2 p.m. regarding a vehicle that came to the shop that did not match the license plate. The vehicle was impounded, pending a search warrant, and the stolen license plates confiscated.
Feb. 10
– King County deputies alerted local officers to a stolen vehicle from a private impound was found at Fred’s Towing. Officers responded, and notified King County than a vehicle inspection will have to occur during the day, due to the car’s condition.
Feb. 13
– Officers were called to Chelsea Lane around 1 a.m. regarding a car alarm that was going off for an extended period of time. Contact with the car’s owner was made, and it was turned off.
– Officers were called to The Ski Inn around 1:30 a.m. to assist the business in removing subjects refusing to leave.
– Officers received a 10:30 a.m. report of a driver driving the wrong way in traffic on Osceola Street. They located the vehicle, but it did not stop, and officers declined to pursue.
Feb. 14
– Officers were dispatched to an Estero Avenue residence around 11:30 a.m. regarding a trailer the resident did not own on their lawn. Officers were also alerted by another caller to a stolen trailer. The trailer was returned.
– Officers were called to McKinley Street regarding a possible overdose around 8:30 p.m.; the subject was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital.
Feb. 18
– Officers came across a suspicious vehicle at Gamblin Motors after hours, around 4 a.m. The vehicle failed to stop for police, due to it being stolen. Officers alerted Buckley that the vehicle was heading in that direction.
Feb. 19
– Officers were alerted to a shoplift in progress at the AM/PM store on Roosevelt around 11:30 p.m.; the subject was trespassed.
Feb. 20
– A confrontational subject at Jersey Mike’s was given a ride home around 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 22
– A subject came to the police department around 5 p.m. to surrender his firearms to support his son’s court case.
BLACK DIAMOND
Feb. 15
– Officers were alerted to a fraud incident in the Ten Trails area around 8:30 a.m. The reporting party said he responded to a Craigslist ad to rent a house in the neighborhood. He was then provided with a code to a lock box located on the house’s exterior in order to walk through the home, and decided to put down a $500 deposit. The reporting party found out later the house was never for rent.
– Officers stopped a reckless driver on Poplar Avenue SE around 3:30 p.m. and cited them for reckless driving and refusing to cooperate.
– Officers were called to Crystal Avenue to a report of a suspicious person around 5:30 p.m. According to the reporting party, a male had asked if she was living alone with children; the male later left, and officers were unable to locate him.
– Officers responded to a possible armed suspect and injured individuals on 225th Avenue SE in Maple Valley around 10:15 p.m. Officers shut down access on the east and west ends of SE 288th Street, but King County deputies determined the call was a “SWATTING” hoax (there was no armed suspect or injured people), and cleared the scene.
Feb. 17
– Officers confirmed a Black Diamond arrest warrant at the police station around 4:30 p.m.; the subject was booked into the Enumclaw jail.
BUCKLEY
Jan. 1 – 8
– A woman who had been previously trespassed from the Econolodge Hotel refused to leave, locking herself in the bathroom. She was eventually evaluated by medics, who determined she did not meet the criteria of involuntary treatment, and she was arrested and booked into the SCORE jail.
– Officers observed a Chevy driving recklessly in the Ryan Road and S. Sergeant Street area. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the car did not stop. Officers did not chase due to current state law.
– A driver was stopped on SR 410 and Main Street for driving 20 mph over the limit, and officers quickly discovered they were inebriated and blew 2.5 times over the legal BAC limit of 0.08. They were arrested and booked in the Enumclaw jail.
Jan. 9 – 15
– Officers were dispatched to Carbonado to a report of a female shot by her boyfriend (“Man suspected of killing woman in Carbonado dies after police confrontation early Sunday morning”, published Jan. 10), who fled the scene. Officers determined probable cause while Pierce County deputies followed the suspect; when they attempted to stop the suspect, he shot himself.
– Officers were alerted to a man slumped over his vehicle at theBrown Bear Carwash. When they arrived, they found a female performing CPR. Medics arrived later, but could not revive the subject, who appeared to have just used heroin. The Pierce County Medical Examiner took custody of the body.
– Officers were alerted of a Ford truck having been stolen from the NW Fitness Zone parking lot; the car contained both a firearm and a dog (“Truck, stolen dog inside recovered after being stolen from Buckley gym parking lot”, published Jan. 12). The car and dog were recovered the next day in Enumclaw.
Jan. 16 – 23
– Offices aided Orting PD with a stabbing incident. The suspect was located in the Carbon River by a Pierce County K9 unit, and booked for felony assault and harassment.
– Officers were alerted to a burglary in progress on 112th Street E., with the suspect having cut through the fence at a construction yard. The suspect fled the scene when interrupted by the yard mechanic before anything was taken.
– Officers attempted to pull over a U-Haul box van for speeding, but the vehicle fled and was last seen fleeing west on 112th Street E. Officers could not pursue due to state law. The U-Haul was later found abandoned, and was identified as stolen.
– Officers pulled stopped a vehicle going 117 mph on 112th St., and was arrested and booked for DUI. His Porsche was impounded.
Jan. 24 – 31
– Officers responded to a burglary at Rainier Thrift. No suspects were located, and the total loss to the business was less than $1,000.
– Officers assisted Bonney Lake PD in recovering a stolen vehicle at Wal-Mart. An associated car fled the scene, though officers later found it on Lower Burnett Road. The car almost struck a police vehicle while fleeing, and officers did not give chase due to current state law.
– Officers were dispatched to the Carbonado Saloon for a motorcycle crash, where a rider — being filmed by his buddies — gave his ride too much throttle and crashed into the curb. The rider suffered four broken ribs and several staples to the head.
– Officers were contacted by an intoxicated woman in Wilkeson, who wanted to report her car being stolen. Officers found the car where she left it by the Carbonado Saloon. The driver was not allowed to drive home.
