Plateau police blotter | March 11 – April 6

Numerous DUIs in Buckley, nuisance 911 calls in Enumclaw, and a downed stop sign in Black Diamond.

BUCKLEY

March 11

– Officers spotted a vehicle suspected of a crime a couple of days earlier on SR 410 around 6:18 p.m. Police were able to pull the car over and contact the driver, who had give misdemeanor warrants out of Buckley for his arrest. He was arrested and booked into the Enumclaw jail.

March 13

– Police conducted a vehicle license plate check on a car in the SR 410/Main Street area around 9:48 p.m. The check revealed the registered owner had a suspended license. After stopping the vehicle and contacting the driver, it was determined he was the registered owner. Officers also smelled intoxicants coming from the car, and learned the driver needed to have an ignition interlock device installed (it did not have one). The driver was arrested for DUI, transported to a local hospital for a blood draw, then booked.

March 17

– Officers arrested a 19 year-old after spotting him speeding and swerving in the A Street/Park Avenue area around 1:44 a.m.

March 24

– Police were dispatched to a vehicle vs. tree collision in the River Avenue/Dieringer Avenue area round 3:41 p.m. The female driver was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for DUI.

March 26

– Officers responded to a physical domestic dispute on S River Avenue around 11:23 p.m. Police arrested the primary aggressor, who was noticeably intoxicated; both parties were treated by medics.

April 2

– Police were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision on Cemetery Road around 7:21 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they found a car in a ditch and an intoxicated driver. The driver was found to be over two times the legal limit and was arrested.

April 4

– While on patrol in the Hovey Street and Maas Avenue, officers spotted a vehicle with no plates parked in front of a construction site. Police contacted the driver, who was standing outside the vehicle, but he refused to identify himself, entered his car, and fled the area. Officers did not pursue.

ENUMCLAW

March 30

– A vehicle ran a school bus stop sign on Schmid Street around 12:03 p.m. Officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, and will later confirm with the bus driver that the car was a match so a citation can be issued.

– Police received a report of a subject wandering in and out of traffic on Roosevelt Avenue around 1:09 p.m. The subject was arrested on multiple Enumclaw warrants.

– Officers and EMS responded to a medical emergency on Grand Fir Drive around 4:36 p.m. The patient was transported to the hospital.

March 31

– Police received a report of boxes of sports equipment stolen from Southwood Elementary. Extra patrol was requested.

– Officers took a male subject into custody after receiving a report of a physical domestic dispute in progress on Martin Way around 12:34 p.m.

April 1

– A two-vehicle collision happened in the Griffin Avenue and Garfield Street area around 2:01 a.m. The at-fault driver fled on foot; both cars were towed.

– One subject was arrested for DUI, possibly for the earlier incidnet, at around 2:38 a.m. on Griffin Avenue.

– Another hit and run, this time on SE 436th Way and 244th Avenue SE, occurred around 8:55 p.m. While en route, officers were contacted by the at-fault driver to advise of his involvement; he was arrested and booked for DUI.

April 4

– Police and EMS responded to a medical call around 3:55 a.m. The patient was transported to a hospital.

– Officers received a report of a fight to begin on Willow Drive around 6:56 p.m. Prior to arriving, one subject left on foot, and the other went inside. Police drove past and saw no continuing issues.

April 5

– Police were alerted to a dispute between two armed men on 440th Street and Farman Street N around 9:04 a.m. Neither party wanted to press charges.

– Officers received a report of an intoxicated subject checking out at QFC around 8:04 p.m. A friend arrived to pick the subject up.

April 6

– Police spotted a subject with a flashlight in a Cole Street alleyway around 1:02 a.m. The subject told officers they were going through the dumpster, and left the area.

– Between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., officers received ten calls from a known nuisance caller.

BLACK DIAMOND

March 28

– Officers were dispatched to SR 288th Street to a report of a downed stop sign around 2 p.m. Police stood the sign back up and alerted Public Works.

March 29

– Police spotted a suspicious individual on Lawson Street around 6:45 p.m. Officers watched the subject until they left the city.

March 30

– Officers received a report of a citizen dispute in an undisclosed location around 10:51 a.m. The reporting party told police they were being harassed for money. Officers provided resources regarding court orders and determined no crime had been committed.

– Police received a call about a potential theft on 227th Place SE around 1:55 p.m. Officers put the case on inactive status until additional information can be found.

– Officers were dispatched to Tahoma Place around 6:55 p.m. to check out a possible domestic dispute. Police determined a crime had been committed and arrested one subject.

April 1

– Police responded to an erratic driver report in the 3rd Avenue and Park Street area around 1:30 p.m. The reporting party updated officers that the car drove away toward Maple Valley, and police forwarded the report on to other law enforcement agencies.

– Officers were dispatched to 228th Avenue SE and SE Sawyer Ridge around 3:15 p.m. regarding a road rage incident. Before they arrived, one vehicle involved left the are; an area check of the direction it went off it was negative.

April 2

– Police received another call about erratic driving, this time on Roberts Drive, around 8 p.m. Officers contacted the driver, who said they were using their breaks frequently because of the falling snow.
