Hit-and-run collisions, a stolen mountain bike and a mysterious flower-pot vandal

ENUMCLAW

June 1

■ A vehicle was reported stolen from a Monroe Avenue location. The vehicle was found in a nearby parking lot.

■ An officer took a report of a vehicle striking a mailbox on Griffin Avenue.

June 2

■ Enumclaw firefighters extinguished a small bark fire at the Rainier Glen Apartments at 739 Watson Street north.

June 3

■ Officers trespassed an unwanted person from the 152 Roosevelt Avenue Safeway.

■ Officers responded to a fight on Alpine Place. All people involved were engaged in mutual combat, so no charges were filed.

June 4

■ A vehicle backed onto a boulder in the Enumclaw High School parking lot; a friend of the driver arrived to take the driver home and planned to assist with moving the stuck vehicle.

■ Officers trespassed a number of people after recieving reports of attempted shoplifting at the Roosevelt Avenue Safeway. One person was booked into the Enumclaw jail on a Buckley warrant.

June 5

■ A vehicle was stolen from the area of Railroad Street.

■ Officers responded to reports of an individual wielding a sword on Roosevelt Avenue. The person was found without any weapons.

June 6

■ Officers booked and removed a person from the Roosevelt Avenue Safeway who had been trespassed from the store.

June 7

■ Officers collected drugs found on the ground at Warner Avenue and 244th Avenue SE and took the materials for destruction.

■ A caller on Cole Street reported that someone had dumped out her flower pots. Officers took a report.

■ Officers took a report about a mountain bike stolen from a Roosevelt Avenue location.

June 8

■ A caller on Kibler Avenue reported a person prowling their back yard. An officer checked the area.

BUCKLEY

May 20

■ An officer responded to a hit-and-run in the 29300 block of SR 410. A white Toyota Highlander had reportedly struck a building, and the driver fled the scene. The officer identified the vehicle and the 30-year-old woman who was the driver. The woman was arrested and booked into jail for the hit-and-run collision, and the Highlander was impounded.

May 24

■ Officers were informed a 70-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s was walking toward a gas station near the 29200 block of SR 410. They contacted her for a welfare check; she was taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.

■ An officer saw a disabled vehicle in the roadway at Naches Street and Dundass Avenue. The officer spoke with a woman who said her vehicle ran out of gas; the officer brought a gas can and the woman to a nearby gas station to refuel, then brought her back to her vehicle.

BLACK DIAMOND

May 26

■ Officers responded to a traffic collision in the 23600 block of SE 288th Street. Those involved were checked by fire personnel for injuries, and the at-fault driver was cited.

May 29

■ An officer on patrol noticed an unsecured gate in the 23200 block of SE 312 Street, checked the area and re-secured the gate.

May 30

■ A caller phoned the Black Diamond Police Station to file a vehicle theft report, but officers couldn’t successfully get back in touch with the person.

May 31

■ Officers identified a person who admitted to hitting-and-running from another vehicle in the 32500 block of 2nd Avenue. The victim decided to handle the issue civilly with the other motorist.

■ Officers found booked a person into the Enumclaw jail after responding to a theft-in-progress in the 29000 block of 216th Avenue SE.

■ An officer responded to a reported suspicious person in the 30400 block of 3rd Avenue. The person had accidentally become locked in the gated area of a business; the officer opened the gate for him to leave.

June 3

■ Officers responded to a collision in the 32600 block of 3rd Avenue, where a vehicle had reportedly struck a building. The car had come to rest on an elevated porch at a residential home. The driver, who had no visible injuries, said he had been driving southbound on 3d Avenue when he fell alseep. His vehicle crossed into the other lane of travel and off the road before punching through a fence, going airborne and landing on a porch next to a residence. The driver refused further medical treatment from fire fighters, who found the home was unoccupied. The driver was issued a citation and infraction for driving without a valid operator’s license or insurance.

June 4

■ Officers took a report of a theft at the 32600 block of Willow Avenue.
