"Earlier there was thunder

Now I hear children

playing in the park

I did not see

that plumaged bird

you spoke of."

That's just a sampling of Don Christianson's original poem "Black." Christianson, along with three other members of the Plateau Poetry Connections, will read for the public at 7 p.m. Saturday at downtown Enumclaw's Lindon Bookstore.

Jim Behrens, Judith Kent Prenovost and Judith Len Nickels will join Christianson with readings from their favorite or latest pieces.

Plateau Poetry Connections began in 1995 and meets at 1 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at the Enumclaw Public Library. The group is hoping to make the readings, which are hosted by Arts Alive!, a regular monthly event.

The public is invited. There is no charge.
