Lt. Michael Strozyk of the Bonney Lake Police Department reported that four suspects, three men and a woman, were arrested and taken into custody for their alleged involvement in a vehicle theft ring. The actions took place on the night of Nov. 9 and morning of Nov. 10 in the Willow Brook and Sky Island areas.
"During the course of an investigation into a rash of buglaries, vehicle prowls and vehicle thefts, we received information on the suspects," Strozyk said. "The investigation is ongoing, but…we recovered one car and multiple vehicle parts."
At the time of Strozyk's statement the investigating officers believed all or parts from eight stolen vehicles would be recovered.
"We also cleared up five burglaries and nine prowls," he said.
The Washington State Patrol, working in tandem with the Bonney Lake Police Department, also served a warrant on the suspects for stolen goods.
As of Nov. 14, Police Chief Bryan Jeter said, "The operation is pretty well wrapped up. We're just trying to make sure we track down all the property."
Two arrested for home invasion and burglary
Two males, 20 and 17 years old, were taken into custody and booked into the Pierce County Jail for their alleged involvement in home invasion and burglary crimes.
Both men were charged with multiple felonies and one of the suspects had a previous felony charge on his records. All stolen property was recovered and taken into evidence.
Two new officers to start
Two new officers will begin patrolling Bonney Lake neighborhoods starting Dec. 1. Daron Wolschleger and Scott Kreider, both previously with the Enumclaw Police Department, will bring the Bonney Lake Police Department to full staff.
