BIZARRE BEHAVIOR

• Early Sunday morning, Buckley police were dispatched to a Griffin Avenue apartment in Enumclaw because Enumclaw officers were busy with other calls. A woman had complained of someone banging on her door. When police arrived at the woman’s apartment, she said she had opened the door to find a man standing in the doorway. Seconds later the mystery man bolted in an unknown direction. He was not found.

NOTHING STOLEN

• Shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, a Seventh Avenue resident notified police that the neighbor’s home had been entered and that the back door was left slightly ajar. The man did not enter the home, but when police arrived, they did a complete search for any subjects that might still be in the house. No one was found and the home’s contents were not in disarray, nor could the police find any signs of forced entry.

RABBIT VS. ROTTS

• A Sergeant Street resident called police at a bit after 7 p.m. Saturday to report that a neighbors’ rottweillers were attacking a pet rabbit in his back yard. When the officers arrived at the scene, the dogs were impounded and their owner was informed that there would be a hearing before the city administrator to determine if the dogs could remain in town.

GIRL ASSAULTED

• At 11 a.m. July 1, a 14-year-old girl living at a Cedar Street address signed a detailed assault complaint stating that a 23-year-old man had assaulted her. When police contacted the suspect, who was known to the girl, he said he assaulted the girl because she had been “annoying” him. The man was arrested and booked into the Buckley jail without incident.
