ANIMAL ISSUE
• Police responded to a Harding Street address after hearing of two dogs running loose; a caller reportedly was bitten by one of the dogs, but declined to file a report. An officer contacted the owner of the dogs and advised him to keep the animals restrained.
BUILDING HIT
• No one was hurt the evening of June 24 when a motorist drove into a Warner Avenue apartment building. There was minor damage reported to the exterior of the building.
INAPPROPRIATE
• A man living in the Montgomery Avenue area approached a boy and asked if he would be interested in a “sleepover.” An officer contacted the man and warned him about inappropriate behavior.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE
• Police responded to a Kibler Avenue address June 23 to settle a verbal dispute between a mother and daughter. The mom wanted the daughter to leave due to the disagreement. The officer told both their rights and their options.
ATTEMPT TO LOCATE
• Police began searching for a 19-year-old man shortly before 2 a.m. June 23 after a caller expressed concern that he had left a Griffin Street address with a knife. An officer contacted the man and confiscated the knife for safekeeping.
SOLICITING
• Police were told the afternoon of June 23 of solicitors asking for money. An officer made contact with an individual at 244th Avenue Southeast and Hamilton Place; the subject was advised of the city’s soliciting rules and told to move on.
ASSAULT
• Police responded at 2:21 p.m. June 23 to a domestic situation that resulted in a fourth-degree assault. One person was taken into custody and booked.
KID TROUBLE
• Police responded to a report of a juvenile yelling obscenities at golfers at the Enumclaw Golf Course. The offender was identified; his mother was contacted and she agreed to handle the situation.
IN THE ROAD
• A officer patrolling McDougall Avenue found two subjects laying in the road at 2:06 a.m. June 20. The officer counseled the two and gave them a ride home.
THEFT OF SERVICE
• Police were told the morning of June 20 that a woman driving a blue car dumped trash in an apartment complex Dumpster, despite the fact that she does not live there. The reporting party found a partial phone number in the trash and provided it to an officer.
PARKING COMPLAINT
• Police received a complaint at 9:15 p.m. June 20 of multiple vehicles parked in the vicinity of Lafromboise Street and Griffin Avenue, creating traffic troubles. Police placed barricades on Lafromboise to prevent more vehicles from entering the area. Police also received a noise complaint from a neighbor unhappy with the volume stemming from the Relay For Life event; police checked noise levels and found them to be within the permitted range.
CONCERNED
• An A Court resident phoned police at 3:35 a.m. June 19. She said a noise woke her up and she found a bathroom window open. She checked the house and found nothing; an officer arrived, went through the home, checked the outside and also found nothing.
Buckley
RIDE IS COMING
• At 8:45 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a Main Street address, where they found a woman sleeping under a park bench. When police contacted the woman, she said she was all right and was just waiting for a ride. When the officer dug a little deeper, the woman revealed that her and her boyfriend had been fighting verbally. When the police contacted the boyfriend it was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant and he was booked into the Buckley jail.
SEAT BELT NEEDED
• A car was rolling along the Old Sumner-Buckley Highway at 10:45 p.m. Saturday when suddenly someone fell from the moving vehicle. Buckley police were called in for backup by the Washington State Patrol, When they arrived at the scene the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody for driving under the influence and serious bodily injury of the individual who fell out of the moving vehicle.
DRUNK AND DITCHED
• Police were dispatched to the intersection of Mundy Loss Road and state Route 410 at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, where they discovered a car in a ditch. Two male subjects were standing nearby and one of them stated he had been driving. The driver was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and booked into the Buckley jail.
FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS
• Two inmates in the Buckley jail engaged in a fistfight shortly before midnight Friday. The case is being forwarded to the city prosecutor for review.
GETTING A HEADSTART
• Police were dispatched to a Main Street address at 2:04 a.m. Friday where they found a woman lying on the sidewalk, uttering slurred speech and smelling of intoxicants. The officer determined that no assault had occurred and when told the woman lived in a nearby apartment, he urged her roommate to take her home.
BOOZE TAKEN
• Police were dispatched to a Church Street residence in Wilkeson at 8 p.m. June 23. The reporting party told police that someone had entered her unlocked guest house and stolen several bottles of whiskey. The victim also stated that she thought someone had shined a flashlight into her living room window the night before. The case was sent to investigations for followup.
