PARAPHERNALIA

• Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, a standard traffic stop resulted in a man being arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was towed and impounded, while the driver was booked into the Enumclaw jail.

DRIVER STIFFED

• A Plateau taxi driver reported to police early Sunday morning that he had dropped off a passenger on Griffin Avenue only to have the passenger dash off without paying his fare. Officers searched the area for a young man matching the cab driver’s description, but were unable to locate the violator.

AQUATIC CENTER THEFT

• Officers were dispatched to the scene of a smash and grab at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center at approximately 1:30 p.m. Saturday. A victim informed police that the driver’s side window of her vehicle had been damaged and her purse, cell phone and several other random items had been pilfered.

BOAT MOTOR HEISTED

• Saturday afternoon, an Osceola Street resident called police to report that his boat motor had been stolen from his storage area the night before. There were no witnesses and no suspects.

ATTEMPT TO LOCATE

• An Enumclaw woman called police Thursday evening, advising that her estranged husband told her he was going to commit suicide at an unspecified location. Police attempted to contact him by cell phone but were unsuccessful.

HELPING THE STATE

• Local police were asked Thursday night to assist personnel with the state Department of Corrections in their attempt to apprehend a man who had barricaded himself inside a Cole Street building. The suspect fled and a tracking dog was requested. The suspect was not immediately found.

DUI CRASH

• Officers responded the afternoon of Aug. 12 to a two-car accident in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue and Farman Street. One driver was arrested for driving under the influence and his automobile was impounded.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

• Police responded shortly before 11 a.m. Aug. 11 to a Sorrenson Avenue address, where a man said he witnessed his sister being hit three times by a vehicle driven by her boyfriend. After contacting all parties, police arrested the boyfriend for fourth-degree assault.

JUVENILE TROUBLE

• A juvenile female was yelling and causing a disturbance a few minutes before midnight Aug. 10 at a Roosevelt Avenue address. An officer contacted the girl, took her to the police station and attempted to contact a parent. A sergeant later provided the girl a ride home.

UNWANTED ACTIVITY

• Police received multiple complaints the afternoon of Aug. 10 about a man approaching people and asking for money, even asking that they go to an automated machine to get cash. When police responded, he was inside a Monroe Avenue store. Officers located the man, asked him to leave the store and told him stop approaching people for money.

ASSAULT REPORTED

• Police received a call at 2 p.m. Aug. 10 from a man in the intensive-care unit at Enumclaw Regional Hospital. The man said he was the victim of an assault and robbery at his home.

THEFT

• A McHugh Avenue resident reported the theft of checks from a mailbox Aug. 10. The loss was estimated at $11,000.

Buckley

94 WITH ATTITUDE

• At 11:30 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to the White River Senior Housing community at 420 Spiketon Rd., where there was a complaint of an elderly woman banging on the wall and yelling at her neighbor, who was allegedly making too much noise. When an officer contacted the woman, she began yelling and swearing at him. When the officer suggested she should simply call the police in such cases, the woman slammed the door in the officer’s face.

REARVIEW MIRROR?

• As an officer was completing his appointed rounds in Wilkeson at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, he noticed that the vehicle directly in front of him was alternating between crossing the centerline and the fog line. The policeman activated his emergency lights and safely pulled the vehicle over at the intersection of Church Street and Cedar Avenue. Standard field sobriety tests where administered to the driver who had apparently consumed too much alcohol, after which he was taken into custody for driving under the influence and booked into the Buckley jail.

DID IT AGAIN

• Shortly before 8 p.m. Aug. 11, police were dispatched to the Buckley Post Office, where they encountered a woman sitting in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, which had rammed the side of the building. The woman explained that she had been parking her vehicle and it jumped over the curb and smashed into the side of the building, causing reportable structural damage to the building and minimal damage to her vehicle. A few months ago, the same area of the post office wall had been hit.
