ENUMCLAW
READY FOR ACTION
• At 6 p.m. April 25, police found a suspicious looking backpack loaded with weapons and small explosives outside a Roosevelt Avenue business near some garbage cans located next to the door. The fireworks and a machete were confiscated and the backpack’s owner was warned about leaving loaded guns lying around. The firearm was determined to be an Airsoft pellet gun.
COPPER AND ROBBER
• A Stevenson Avenue business called the police at 9:30 a.m. April 25, to report that sometime during the night persons unknown had tipped over the refrigerators on the loading dock and stripped the copper tubing out of the base of them. While the business’ proprietor didn’t request the police come down and take a full report, he did ask that extra night patrols be made.
NO PIT BULLS PLEASE
• Police received a complaint from a McKinley Street resident on the afternoon of April 24, reporting that one of his neighbors had a pair of pit bulls chained up in his yard behind a fence. Officers were dispatched to the scene, whereupon they told the owner of the animals that pit bulls were not permitted within the city limits.
BUCKLEY
SAY NOPE TO DOPE
• In the late evening of April 25, an 18-year-old male subject from Davenport, Wash., was pulled over for speeding, just off state Route 410 at Upper Cemetery Road. The young man was arrested and booked into the Buckley jail for speeding and not having any proof of insurance. Additionally, it was discovered he was in possession of less than 40 grams of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia, for which he was issued a separate criminal citation.
DOOR LEFT AJAR
• A Buckley officer making his normal rounds at 11 p.m. April 23 noticed the door of a South Cedar Street business had been left open. An employee of the store had apparently unintentionally left the door ajar, so the owner was contacted and the door was secured.
UNREADABLE PLATE
• At a bit after 9 p.m. April 23, an officer pulled over a driver to inform him his license plate was so mangled and dirty he was unable to discern the characters on it, so he requested the man’s driver’s license, registration and proof of liability insurance. Dispatch came back with information regarding the man’s status as driving while license suspended in the third degree. The driver was issued a criminal citation for driving while license suspended in the third degree, was ticketed for the license plate violation and was released on the scene.
