UNWANTED

• Two unwanted females were removed from a Roosevelt Avenue location at approximately 9 p.m. May 27. One was taken into custody for assault and creating a public disturbance; the second was taken into custody on two arrest warrants issued by the Puyallup Police Department, one for assault and the other for obstructing an officer.

SOLICITING

• A Natalie Place resident informed police May 26 that she had been approached by solicitors and, after telling them she did not wish to purchase anything, they began yelling obscenities at her. Police contacted the solicitors, who were advised of the city ordinance regarding business licenses.

• A man and a woman were going door-to-door selling magazines May 26 in the vicinity of Pioneer Street. The fact that they were empty-handed, along with their general appearance, made a resident concerned. The two were contacted and advised to stop their business venture until they had a city license.

WINE HEIST

• Police were told May 26 that a bottle of wine had been stolen from a Griffin Avenue business. A vehicle was stopped at state Route 410 and Mud Mountain Road and a suspect was taken into custody for theft and driving under the influence. The city was handling the theft charge and the Washington State Patrol was taking care of the DUI.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

• Police were contacted May 25 about an incident that occurred the previous weekend. An adult was eventually taken into custody and booked for fourth-degree assault while the juvenile victim was picked up by a grandmother. Child Protective Services was notified of the incident.

DRUG CHARGES

• Three juveniles were spotted hiding in bushes along Rainier Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m. May 25. Police made contact and arrested all three for possession of marijuana and criminal trespassing. All were released to their parents.

HIT AND RUN

• At 3:14 a.m. May 24, a Lafromboise Street resident reported hearing a loud crash and saw a white sport utility vehicle leave the area with apparent damage; also, it appeared to be dragging a bumper and was driven across a neighbor’s lawn. An officer was unable to immediately locate the suspect vehicle but, by the following day, police had made phone contact with a possible suspect, who was to provide a statement.

WEAPON SHOWN

• Police were told May 24 someone had pointed a weapon at another person. An officer met with the victim at a McHugh Avenue address and determined the incident happen outside the city limits. A King County deputy arrived and took control of the case.

• A group of juveniles arrived at the police station at 7:20 a.m. May 24, reporting they were being followed by someone with a knife. Officers were able to identify a suspect and forwarded the case to the Washington State Patrol, as the incident occurred on state Route 410 outside the city limits.

Buckley

INTOXICATED DRIVERS

• A little after midnight Saturday a motorcycle was stopped for speeding along state Route 410. Upon contacting the rider, an officer determined the suspect had been operating the bike while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. The rider was placed under arrest and taken to the Buckley jail for processing.

• A woman was pulled over Friday for a speeding violation at the intersection of Lower Cemetery Road and SR 410. When the officer made contact with the driver, he noted she was exhibiting signs of having consumed intoxicating liquor. The lady offered two breath samples, both of which were over the legal limit. The driver was booked into Buckley jail on the DUI charge.

SUSPICIOUS STUFF

• Three individual, clear, zip-lock packets containing white crystals were found Saturday in a “female section” of the Buckley jail. The packets, whose granulated contents were undisclosed, were discovered by a Buckley correctional officer during a routine inspection.
