Warrant of the Week

The Enumclaw Police Department, in cooperation with The Courier-Herald, has begun a “Warrant of the Week” program. This program is designed to capture people who currently have warrants out for their arrest through tips that citizens provide to the Enumclaw police. The arrest warrants have been issued by the Enumclaw Municipal Court. Each week, a photo of a wanted person, along with a brief description of the crime, will be published. Citizens who have information regarding the whereabouts of the wanted person are encouraged to call the Enumclaw Police Department at 360-825-3505. Callers may remain anonymous.

Joel D. Reader

Joel D. Reader has two warrants issued for his arrest. He has a $50,000 warrant for failure to appear on charges of assault fourth degree and a $100,000 warrant for physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence. Reader was arrested in February 2007 on the “physical control” charge and, while being booked into jail, became uncooperative and began fighting with police. He assaulted an Enumclaw officer during this altercation.

Reader is 6-foot-2, 220 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. He has resided in Federal Way and McCall, Idaho.

TWO CHARGED

• Police received a call shortly before midnight Thursday from a motorist who claimed another driver was harassing him and making threats. The caller claimed the other man had followed him home. That was countered by the claim that the caller had intentionally swerved his vehicle at the second man. Police determined there had been a history of threats made by each man and, further, found that each was driving with a suspended license. Each was charged and taken into custody.

PALLET THEFT

• Police were told Thursday that 300 wooden pallets, valued at $3 each, has been stolen from the rear loading dock of a Roosevelt Avenue business.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

• A Thursday afternoon verbal dispute between a woman and her grandson escalated to the point where each called the police. An officer responded to the Semanski street address, confirmed the dispute was verbal only and counseled each.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT

• Police received a call Nov. 19 regarding poor driving habits in the vicinity of Griffin Avenue and Garrett Street. A particular business was identified and contacted; it was noted that drivers would be cautioned.

DISORDERLY

• Police arrested a man about 8:45 p.m. Nov. 19 after he was seen urinating in public, in an alley off Railroad Street.

TRAFFIC STOP

• Shortly after midnight on Nov. 18, police initiated a traffic stop near Battersby Avenue and 284th Avenue Southeast. The male driver was given a field sobriety test and found to be impaired, either by marijuana or alcohol. His vehicle was parked at a nearby park and the man was picked up by his girlfriend. No charges were filed at the time.

DRUG CHARGE

• At about 12:24 a.m. Nov. 18, police stopped a vehicle on Roosevelt Avenue and took the male driver into custody on a felony drug charge and for driving without a valid license. A female passenger was taken into custody, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The automobile was impounded.

WORRIED NEIGHBORS

• Police were told about 7:20 p.m. Nov. 18 that a man in dark clothing was armed with a bow and arrow and pointing it in the direction of homes in the vicinity of Griffin Avenue and Lafromboise Street. When contacted by police, the man said he was getting ready for bown hunting. He was advised to find another place to prepare.
