SUSPICIOUS

• Police responded at 4:30 a.m. April 30 to a Griffin Avenue residence after a woman woke to the sound of someone banging on her door. She yelled and no one answered, so she called the police. Officers checked the area around the home and found nothing out of the ordinary.

GANG STUFF

• An officer observed “gang-type” graffiti July 30 on a Fell Street building. Photographs were taken and a report was issued.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF

• A Chinook Avenue resident called police at 2 a.m. July 30, reporting that a man threw a rock at the caller’s vehicle and broke a rear window. The suspect and victim know each other. It was believed the suspect was headed to the Maple Valley area.

FAMILY MATTER

• A man arrived at the police station just after 11 a.m. July 30 to report his 18-year-old daughter missing. It was determined that the teen didn’t fit the criteria for a “missing person” because she had left home after becoming angry over attempts to control her drug use.

HARASSMENT

• A Griffin Avenue resident contacted police the morning of July 29, asking that they speak with her neighbor who allegedly had been harassing her. An officer contacted the neighbor and advised her to watch her behavior toward the complainant; the matter was considered settled on contact.

EXTRA PATROL

• Police were told of a suspicious person loitering near a home on Pioneer Street July 28. A neighbor described the suspect only as a “big guy.” Extra patrol was requested.

Buckley

REALLY BAD AIM

• At approximately 2 a.m. Friday, police were dispatched to the corner of 287th and state Route 410, where a person had reported two teenage girls throwing rocks at an empty, parked vehicle. Police located the girls, who told officers that they had been throwing eggs at the car, not rocks. Officers contacted their parents, who came and picked them up, but before they were driven away the officer informed the girls they would be charged with malicious mischief if the car was damaged in any way. When police inspected the scene, they found the majority of the errantly hurled eggs under the vehicle.

SELLING ALCOHOL

• As part of an ongoing investigation into the crime of selling liquor to minors, a confidential informant entered a highway business late Friday and purchased alcohol from a 30-year-old female employee. The employee was interviewed, issued a criminal citation and released.

NOT ALLOWED

• Police responded to a report of a brushfire at milepost 21 on SR 165 at 4:30 p.m. July 27. An officer contacted a man who had a sizable blaze in his fire pit. The Buckley Fire Department arrived on the scene moments later and extinguished the flames.

COOL STATION

• At 1:50 p.m. July 27, police were dispatched to the lobby of the Buckley Police Department where there was a complaint involving indecent exposure. The complainant said he was at the Buckley library when he saw a man viewing pornography on the Internet and masturbating. A librarian told the officers it is not illegal to look at pornographic Web sites, that she had briefly conversed with the man but had not observed him doing anything illegal. Police looked for the suspect, but came up empty handed.
