JUVENILE PROBLEM: Police were called the morning of July 10 to a Chinook Avenue address and an out-of-control juvenile male. He had run away from home after being grounded. All were contacted; the juvenile agreed to calm down and be held accountable for his actions.

NOT LICENSED: Damage to vehicle windows was reported the morning of July 10. Police learned the registered owner took off in a hurry once police were on the way to the Rainier Avenue address. It was determined the driver of the vehicle had a suspended license; he could not be located.

CLUBS STOLEN: Police were told July 9 a Titleist golf bag and clubs were taken from the bed of a pickup while it was parked at a Roosevelt Avenue address. The clubs were valued at $2,000 and the bag at $180.

TOO INTOXICATED: A Harding Street resident called police at 1:24 a.m. July 9, reporting that someone had been looking into the home through a window. Police determined it was a neighbor woman who was extremely intoxicated. She was evaluated by emergency medical personnel and transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

YOUTH ARRESTED: A report was issued at 10:23 p.m. July 9 of several subjects sitting in a pickup who appeared to be drinking alcohol. An officer responded and arrested four juveniles for being minors in possession of alcohol. They were taken to the police station for booking, then released to parents.

PIT BULL PUPS: Police were notified July 7 of pit bull puppies at a Noble Fir Circle residence. A city police officer and staff from King County Animal Control made contact and were told the family would be moving during the next few days. They were given a written warning stipulating they had seven days to move the pit bulls out of the city.

ROLLING DOMESTIC: Police received a report July 7 of a domestic dispute occurring in a moving vehicle. The vehicle eventually was parked in front of the police station. Investigation revealed the altercation had turned physical and the incident occurred in King County jurisdiction. County authorities responded.

THEFT/MIP: An officer on patrol at 1:34 a.m. July 7 spotted subjects running in the vicinity of Monroe Avenue. Further investigation revealed they had just stolen items from a local business. Two were arrested for theft and being minors in possession of alcohol. They were taken to the police station for booking and were ordered to stay out of the business.

FOUR LOCO: Police were notified July 6 by staff at a Griffin Avenue mini-mart, who reported a known female had just stolen three cans of Four Loco. The suspect was contacted at her home and was arrested for shoplifting. She also was ordered to stay away from the business.

EXPLODED: Police were told the afternoon of July 6 of a possible sparkler bomb on Warner Avenue just east of the state Route 410 intersection. Local police responded and a Washington State Patrol trooper confirmed it had already been detonated. The remnants were destroyed.

AGANCY ASSIST: Local police were asked July 6 to contact a subject at a Garfield Street address who was wanted on a felony warrant issued by Pierce County. Several hours later, the subject was taken to Puyallup and turned over to Pierce County Sheriff’s Office personnel.

INJURY ACCIDENT: City officers responded the evening of July 6 to an Alpine Place address and the scene of a two-car accident that involved injuries. King County authorities assumed jurisdiction and city police remained at the scene to assist with traffic control.
