STOLEN BATTERY: On Oct. 23 officers were called for a shoplift complaint. An employee told officers a man stole a car battery while other employees were distracted by other shoppers. Witnesses gave officers the license number of the car used by the man, and officers followed up on the address on the license record. The home was listed as for sale and was currently vacant.
VANDALISM: Officers were contacted by the Sumner School District for vandalism at the Mountain View Middle School. According to the head custodian, an unknown subject damaged several dozen roof vents. The damage was discovered because water was leaving into a hallway. The damage was reported to have been about a week old.
POSSIBLE DRUG DEAL: Officers were off duty in a gym on Oct. 18 when they overheard other people saying they could see a drug deal going on outside. Officers watched a parked car with a male in the drivers seat and another in the passenger seat exchange what looked like a large amount of marijuana. Officers saw the man in the passenger seat exit and the car drive away. Officers provided information to dispatch.
