The next Prairie Ridge Community Coalition meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Monday at the Prairie Ridge Community Service Center, located at 14104 Prairie Ridge Drive.

With the new year comes new programs and activities to serve the community including Youth Leading Change for high school students, Campfire Family Club for children of all ages and their parents, and WonGen Central Community Services will be opening soon to serve working poor families.

Another program that is in the works is Breaking Silence.  Alicia Heck will be our guest presenter at the meeting and share with you about a support group for survivors of child sexual abuse.  Breaking Silence is also planning a training for adults on prevention and response called Stewards of Children.  1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused by their 18th birthday.  Heck will discuss available services, support groups, and training that is available.

There will be time at the end of the meeting to share resources, activities, and events. Light refreshments will be served.  Please feel free to bring a lunch.
