Primary election night results

Enumclaw School District Board challengers Ben Stouffer, Tonya Pettit ahead in the polls

Polls are closed and preliminary primary results have just been posted by King and Pierce County, putting Washington one step closer to the general election.

The Plateau — or, more specifically, Enumclaw and Black Diamond — only had one preliminary race to pay attention to, but there are several local contests to vote on come November.

Results will be finalized Aug. 15.

Here’s how the primary election appears to be shaking out:

Enumclaw School District No. 216, Director District No. 4

This is the only local primary race, between incumbent Lori Metschan and challengers Ben Stouffer and Tonya Pettit.

• Lori Metschan: 25.13%

• Ben Stouffer: 47.35%

• Tonya Pettit: 26.39%

King County Prop. No. 1: Veterans, Seniors and Human Services Levy

• Approve: 69.51%

• Reject: 30.49%
