Cedar River Academy students will present their fall term learning projects to parents, other students and the public during the school’s Knowledge Fair at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on the academy campus located in the former J.J. Smith School building at 1640 Fell St. in Enumclaw.

“Cedar River Academy applies its Student-Centered Education Model to transfer learning responsibility from teachers to students,” said Anne Gerken, Cedar River Academy admissions director. “Our students develop subject matter skills and then apply them to projects that interest them. This research, build, document, and present cycle assures the student has a high interest level and deeper conceptual subject matter understanding.”

Near the end of each term, all Cedar River Academy students present their work to parents, other students and teachers at school-wide Knowledge Fairs. CRA teachers decided to invite the Enumclaw community to attend Knowledge Fairs believing that the students will benefit from presenting their work to a broader audience.

Cedar River Academy is a nonsectarian private elementary and middle school. At Cedar River Academy, students learn to think critically at high-levels as they analyze information and solve problems in multiple ways. Academy teachers support individual students as they learn to read, write, master mathematics, become fluent in a foreign language, appreciate arts and music, and present their work.
